Dee Dine is an American author who writes healthy cookbooks, cozy mysteries and stress-relief bold and easy coloring books for grown-ups.
Hi, I’m Dee. At the moment, I am focused on creating bold and easy coloring books for grownups that reduce stress and anxiety. So far I have drawn and published 5 coloring books, one is even mini or pocket-sized and perfect to bring to work so you can find a quiet moment to reduce stress during a break. Coloring them is relaxing and easy with alcohol markers and I show you how on my videos on Instagram and TikTok.
Each coloring book contains images I hand drew using photoshop, and in order to keep the stress at a minimum, I made the lines bold so if you coloring near the lines you probably won’t go out of them – hence the series name, Bold & Easy coloring books.
Coloring Benefits
Coloring a page to completion should take a few minutes and completing a coloring task (or any task) is known for triggering happy hormones. So I hope I am successful in bringing a little bit of peace and calm to your days with my stress-relief coloring books.
My Journey
My healthy cookbooks were published first (in 2019), and spring from my nutritionist background and are an extension of my healthy food blog, Green Smoothie Gourmet. This healthy food blog occupies a lot of my days as I create clean recipes from scratch, photograph them, video and post detailed process steps and instructions. It is still my passion, and I love creating, eating and sharing my recipes which are all dairy-free, vegan, plant-based, and gluten-free. I like to steer away from processed ingredients as much as possible and I keep ingredient lists super short, so if that’s of interest, you might want to visit me on the blog or on my Green Smoothie Gourmet Instagram account where I have 121K followers and post new recipes pretty often.
The stress-relief coloring books are more recent venture and I wildly excited about them. Offering a way to reduce stress by coloring fits my general life’s passion which is to help everyone feel better. I am not the best detail artist – my daughters far exceed me in that area – but I am great at digital line drawing – Photoshop has been my friend for decades – and is the perfect tool to use to create bold and easy coloring books that so help with anxiety and stress-relief.
The cozy mystery series I wrote this past year because I love the escape of a good cozy mystery, especially those that involve spies and adventure. And in fact, Taylor Swift inspired the Sleeper Spy cozy mystery – if you listen to her new TTPD album you’ll know what I mean. In my cozy mystery series, along with action, you’ll get to hang out in a super-luxury resort, enjoy beach vacations, a hint of a romance, friendship, clean writing, and lots of page-turning action, along with some gentle and snarky humor.
A Peek at My Life
Born and raised in Boston, I am a frequent visitor of the East Coast beaches, spending my weekends and summers on beaches in Rockport and Cape Cod, as well as the island of Martha’s Vineyard. I also spent many of my work vacations (I have a masters in Journalism, worked for Forbes and Fortune, and then learned code and career-changed to web development when I became a UX developer) in pursuit of other beaches including Greece, Italy and of course the island of Bermuda. I now live in Washington DC with my husband, am the proud mother of three wonderful children and the family Pomeranian and my daughter’s beloved cockatiel Casper – both sidekicks in my cozy mystery series.
